SOMERLED LODGE is situated at the very top of Onemana Drive, high on the ridge overlooking the sea, and affords spectacular views of all the offshore islands - the Slipper Group, the Alderman Islands and Mayor Island - and of the eastern coastline. A specially designed deck on the upper floor provides unsurpassed panoramic views and all rooms have sea views. The Lodge is a Kiwi adaptation of a Romano-Mediterranean style, is stylishly decorated and luxuriously appointed and provides cool and comfortable living on even the hottest days.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast on the upper deck, looking out over the shimmering sea where the off-shore islands seem to float in the morning sun on the distant horizon... the sea sparkles and dances on sunny mornings and of course there is always something to watch. If you prefer complete privacy, breakfast can be served in your room or in the Courtyard (see below).

Onemana is situated 10km north of Whangamata and is a small and very beautiful crescent-shaped beach which has been developed as a mainly residential and holiday resort. It boasts a good restaurant, a dairy, a real estate office and several fine pottery and craftspeople, as well as a spa-pool complex, a small children's playground and two tennis courts on a spacious grassy reserve directly behind the beach. There are many pleasant walks available and a modest cliff-climb gives access to Pokohino Bay (also known as Honeymoon Bay) just around the headland.
Horse-riding and golf links are accessible at nearby Whangamata, together with many other holiday attractions, such as surfing, swimming and boating.
In the opposite direction, just 6km further north lies Opoutere, another Coromandel gem, with its pine forest access to a long and beautiful beach and its large protected coastal-bird-life breeding grounds.
